Need to Remove VAT to Ensure Pasta Access

Mr. Rasoul Mozhdeh Shafagh, Advisor & Spokesperson for the Iranian Pasta Factory Employers’ Association

The main challenge that not only the pasta industry, but most industrial and manufacturing units face is the instability and constant changes in the prices of raw materials. There are two groups of raw materials in the pasta industry, the most important of which is wheat; a product that is in the control of the government and GTC due to its monopoly, and producers are forced to comply with the prices set, whether right or wrong.

Constant changes in exchange rates, customs regulations, and the Trade Promotion Organization’s regulations regarding the time limit for eliminating single-use business cards have also caused many problems in the pasta export sector.
