Amirabad Port: Strategic Hub for Essential Goods

Mr. Mohammadali Mousapour, Director General of Amirabad Ports and Maritime Affairs.

Amirabad Port, located in the north of Iran, plays a significant role in the import of basic goods of the country and has a strategic position for the country’s economy, especially in the field of grains and livestock inputs.

Based on performance statistics of recent years, Amirabad Port is responsible for about 13 percent of the country’s total imports of basic goods and is ranked second among importing ports after Imam Khomeini Port.

This trend has continued this year, and during the first eight months of 1404 (April-November 2025), more than 1.9 million tons of grains and livestock inputs have entered the country through this port.

The existence of advanced infrastructure, including silos, tanks, and appropriate warehouses, has increased the motivation of goods owners, especially in the field of basic commodities and edible oil, to use Amirabad Port.
