One of the serious challenges facing the Iranian flour industry is the impact of the Snapback Mechanism;

This mechanism, which is part of the sanctions, can put pressure on domestic production by disrupting the import of spare parts, auxiliary materials, and related technologies; therefore, the flour industry, despite its national and domestic appearance, is heavily dependent on external factors, and any disruption can disrupt the supply chain. In addition, problems such as lack of liquidity and inflation also put additional pressure on producers.

Accordingly, the mechanism should be seen as a real crisis and detailed, long-term planning should be made to deal with its consequences. One effective solution could be to hold conferences like “iranGrain,” which provides a platform for exchanging views and providing practical solutions to confront this threat.
