Russia aims to produce 170 million tons of wheat annually by 2030
According to the Negashteh Magazine, during the Global Grain & Pulses Forum, Russian Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut announced that Russia aims to produce 170 million tons of wheat annually by 2030, and its export capacity should be at least 80 million tons. This announcement was made during her speech at the 3rd Global Grain & Pulses Forum in Dubai on February 18, 2025.
She emphasized: In 2024, Russia exported 72 million tons of wheat to other countries, of which 54 million tons were wheat, making Russia the largest wheat exporter in the world. Despite a lower harvest in 2024 due to adverse weather conditions and a harvest of about 130 million tons of wheat, the country is still able to meet its domestic needs and maintain its high export capacity. For the current season, Russia is expected to export between 55 and 57 million tons of wheat to foreign countries.
