Pasta Price Adjusted After 18 Months with 21% Increase Amid Currency Allocation Challenges

In May of this year, the Association submitted an analysis of the price of pasta to the support organization with a 30% increase proposal, but unfortunately, more than 7 months later, the support organization did not provide any response to the Pasta Association. In this situation, it was not possible for production units to continue production at last year’s prices. In addition, the pasta industry is still uncertain about whether pasta is subject to mandated pricing or not because if the pricing of pasta is mandatory, then why seven months have passed since the beginning of the year, the price of pasta for the new year has not been determined yet! In this regard, the pasta association sent a letter to the support organization following the previous correspondence in October and demanded to determine the task of the new price of pasta and also demanded clarification regarding the pricing method of pasta.

After that, in a joint meeting, the pasta association and the management of the support organization reached an understanding about the new price of pasta. Therefore, since the beginning of November this year, with a 21% increase in the price of pasta, the price of 700 grams of spaghetti has increased from about Rls. 272,500 to Rls. 330,000, including 10% added value.
