
The Minister of Agriculture-Jihad has forecast that Iran’s wheat production will reach between 13 and 14 million tons in the current agricultural year, with the government planning to purchase around 9.5 to 10 million tons.
He emphasized that about 85% of essential goods are produced domestically, which significantly strengthens Iran’s food security.
Despite challenging conditions, policies are in place to ensure public access to food remains stable.
Although prices may rise, food security is not expected to face serious threats. The government has also continued purchasing surplus agricultural products and maintaining exports despite restrictions. In addition, Iran is expanding agricultural cooperation with countries such as Turkey and Kyrgyzstan to further support food security and sector stability.
