iranGrain 2025: Focusing on BRICS and Russia in the Global Grain Trade Outlook
Mr. Sharif Nezam Mafi, Executive Director of iranGrain Conference

Criticizing the decline in the quality of the Geneva Conference for Iranian audiences, Nezam Mafi said: American companies had a strong presence in this edition of the Geneva Conference; but due to sanctions, they were not willing to cooperate with Iranian companies in the field of grain trade, which made this edition of the conference unattractive to Iranian audiences.
He continued about the iranGrain conference and said: The significant difference between this year’s iranGrain and previous years depends on the results of negotiations and the reduction of sanctions; however, the main focus of this year’s iranGrain will be on the two axes of BRICS and Russia, because the BRICS countries have high potential for non-dollar exchanges and relatively large markets; but at the same time, there are similarities between BRICS and the Non-Aligned Movement, a movement that was formed in the 60s and 70s; but ultimately did not come to fruition.
Regarding the Russian market, given the large fluctuations in this country’s exports due to domestic laws, iranGrain’s main goal this year regarding the Russian market is to better understand the country’s laws, predict the harvest and planting seasons of products, and identify the dark spots of the Russian market to gain the most profit.
