Average of rainfall in less than a third of the world
Professor Kardovani, father of Iran’s modern geography:

- CEO of Tak Makaron: Right now, the best technologies and the newest ones have been used in pasta producing companies in Iran. One of the main problems of pasta producers is determining the price of the products. There is a rule in Iran according to which the producers have to put the fixed price on the products, this is not correct because it makes the producers to sell the products with that fixed price and do not have any motivation for offering competitive prices to the market.
- Ghazal Rahim Zadeh, Head of Sanandaj Flour quality control: In the water crisis that Iran is facing these years, producing wheat with such low protein does not seem logical. In this situation, our biggest mistake is increasing the wheat acreage every year. However, if we try to use a better seed or mix the Iranian wheat with other good quality varieties, we might be able to produce a better quality bread which promotes the health factors in our society.
- Khalili form Lipp Silos: Lipp silos are among one of the most unique silo systems available in Iran. There are different projects in Iran which have been done with Lipp silos. Some of these silos are as old as 40 years and are still in very good condition without any complaints.
- Shahrokh Mehdi Zadeh Benissi, from Bagarboden Bread in Sweden: The two biggest problems of Iranian bakers are wrong oven temperatures and not using sourdough.
- Negar Gerami, Head of World Food Program in Iran: There is a 16-kilogram food basket allocated to every refugee in Iran. Each basket contains wheat flour, rice, oil, pulses and sugar. 9 kilograms of this 16-kilogram food basket is wheat flour which is the most important item of the basket. Iran is the sixth country in the world regarding the number of refugees living there.
- Mohammad Reza Neshati: Right now, the main part of Iran’s economy is in the hands of the government. This economy has been built on the oil and the government’s share in GDP is very high, resulting in less prominent role of people and the private sector. We should note that the government’s financial abilities are very limited and it cannot manage everything, therefore, getting help from the private sector could provide money for different sectors.
- Alireza Noghreh, baker: the average of using non-flat bread in Iran is around 7 percent and this index is 10 percent in Tehran.
- Ghazi, CEO of Etminan Flour: Every year, the government pays a huge amount of money on buying wheat which is full of different non-wheat particles which will be taken out from the wheat leaving a less amount from the amount that had been paid for. The government should use a different standardization of buying wheat so that the millers do not have to pay for making the wheat clean and ready to be milled.
- Assrin Assadbeigi, Head of quality control in Mah Monir Bookan Flour: During the season of harvesting the wheat, it is bought by the government, however, there are not quality control checks when buying it from the farmers which results in farmers losing interest for maintaining the standards because it is not controlled. Factors such as hectoliter mass, broken kernels and the gluten index are not considered in buying wheat.
- Professor Kardovani, father of Iran’s modern geography: the average rainfall in less than a third of the world. Iran is situated in the semi-dry and dry belt of the world, the population of Iran s increasing and the water resources are decreasing. The government should reduce the acreage under agriculture since it uses more than 70 percent of the water in Iran.
- Mojgan Khanloo, representative of Management and Planning Organization: In the current year, the government ows 3300 billion Tomans to the farmers. Almost half of Iran’s budget is paid for buying wheat from the farmers. Buying wheat should be given to the private sector.
- Xavier Monard, CEO of La Tartine has founded a company in Iran and is looking to produce the traditional Iranian bread using new technologies. According to him, changing the taste of Iranians and making them use the bread belonging to other countries is not an easy job, therefore, instead of this, the best way to improve the health of Iranians is by producing the bread they love in a healthier way.
- Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs traveled to South Africa in order to talk about the expansion of bilateral political and economic relations and international issues were discussed during the meeting. Zarif and South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Maite Nkoana-Mashabane signed a cooperation document in banking, development and investment, biotechnology, nanotechnology, agriculture, transportation, fisheries, beekeeping and shipping during the 13th meeting of Iran–South Africa Joint Economic Committee.
