Passing the guaranteed purchase of wheat beyond the limit of 2.35 million tons
Mr. Sohrab Sohrabi, Project Manager of the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad: So far, more than 2,350,000 tons of wheat worth about 41,000 billion Tomans have been purchased.
From this amount, about 2,300 billion Tomans have been paid by the government to the farmers who have delivered their surplus wheat to the official guaranteed purchase centers and the rest of the funds will be paid with the follow-ups of the Ministry of Jihad and Agriculture, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance, and the Planning and Budget Organization.
Estimates show that in the current crop year, 13.5 to 14.5 million tons of wheat will be produced in the country and about 11.5 to 12 million tons of wheat will be guaranteed to be purchased, in which case we will reach complete self-sufficiency in the production and guaranteed purchase of this product.
