15% growth in the unloading and distribution of basic goods by the end of January 2026

Mr. Aboutaleb Geraylou, Director General of Ports and Maritime Affairs of Khuzestan Province

From the beginning of April 2025 to the end of January 2026, nearly 14.6 million tons of basic goods were unloaded at this port, representing a 15 percent increase over the same period last year.

Also, during the same period, more than 14.3 million tons of basic goods were shipped to consumer destinations across the country via the road and rail transportation network, an increase of 15 percent; statistics that clearly demonstrate the pivotal role of this port in ensuring the country’s food security.

In one of the most important of these achievements, 74,000 tons of essential goods were unloaded from a ship in just 2.7 days; a record that was recorded for the first time in the history of the country’s ports and reduced the time for unloading ships from an average of 8 to 9 days to a level close to global standards.
