How did the mafias bring Iran’s economy to the brink?

Mr. Mohammadreza Mortazavi, Head of Federation of Iranian Food Association

FATF is one of the important deadlocks in Iran’s economy, because due to its non-acceptance, the country has been blacklisted by the Financial Action Task Force and the issue of financial transfers has become one of the most important challenges.

While during Mr. Khatami’s government, Iranian businessmen could easily benefit from their international credits for trade by opening an LC; but for several decades, this mechanism has been practically eliminated, and financial exchanges are carried out with great difficulty and through informal channels, which has led to the formation of a gangster economy in Iran and is considered the biggest danger to the economy of a country.

Currently, FATF is implemented inside the country as domestic laws, so there should be no fear for its implementation in the international dimension unless there is some deception in it and some people want to sell oil offshore and announce false statistics about oil sales. Therefore, groups that seek to sell oil offshore have prevented the approval of FATF in Iran. When the economy of a country is managed by mafia, after a while these same mafias become a great power that no one can oppose.

Unfortunately, for 30 years, Iran’s gas has been burned at the wells as a huge wealth in the country, unless Iran’s oil was nationalized so that it can be sold according to the correct and principled rules and laws. So why do Iranian oil ships move around the world with off radars?! Why are the figures of the country’s oil sales contracts confidential?! What does a rich country like Iran mean when there is poverty and misery in its villages and cities? Meanwhile, with the money collected from the wellhead gas that we burn, the country’s need for schools and hospitals can be met within two years.
