We will not have any problems in case of storage and stock of wheat in Tehran until the end of the year, and in terms of wheat quality, we are improving due to the imports that took place this year. Also, the government will import wheat this year in order to meet the strategic reserves and needs of the country.
Mr. Masaebi, Secretary of the Starch Association:
The shortage of corn in the market caused the price of corn products to increase. Fortunately, this problem is being solved with the recent decision of the government to quickly clear imported corn from customs.
Mr. Zargaran, Head of the National Grain Suppliers Association:
The grain supply and demand system has changed dramatically this year, and even a country like China has increased its strategic reserves to five years, like increasing corn reserves from 7 million tons to 22 million tons. We have observed an increase in demand and a decrease in supply in the market, which has resulted in the growth of grain prices in the past few months. The price record has surpassed the 2011 record rate, and if these conditions continue, we can say that we will see a record-breaking grain price in history.
Mr. Ali Asgharzadeh, Managing Director of Sahlan Special Economic Zone:
Sahlan Economic Zone is one of the important hubs of the country for importing, grains transshipment and livestock inputs because these goods enter the country by train and after unloading in warehouses, it is distributed to different parts of the country by truck or rail.
Mr. Mohammad Ali Zeighami, Vice-president of the Union of Importers of Livestock and Poultry Inputs:
The amount of imports of livestock inputs to Iran until November of 2020 includes inputs such as crude oil amounting to 615,281, oilseeds, 1,417,248, soybean meal 947,149, barley 1,283,752 and corn 6,568,464 tones.
