Record-breaking 70,000-ton Unloading at Imam Khomeini Port

Ms. Paridokht Rashedi, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Parto Pardis Company and Amin Tarabar

Among the notable honors of Parto Pardis Company is the recording of a unique record in Imam Khomeini Port, where the company succeeded in completing the unloading operation of a ship carrying 70,000 tons of corn in just 72 hours, registering its name as one of the record holders for speed and accuracy in unloading ships in this port.

The biggest challenge during unloading and loading at Imam Khomeini Port is the lack of suitable unloading equipment. If measures are taken to purchase and import modern equipment such as suction hoppers and up-to-date cranes, given the high draft of the pier and the possibility of berthing Panamax ships, unloading operations can be carried out with the highest speed and best quality.

Also, currently, due to high ship traffic, limited berthing piers, and the use of worn-out and outdated equipment, the unloading process is sometimes slow and problematic. Therefore, the best solution is for the Ports Authority to strengthen and expand port equipment, including advanced suction hoppers and up-to-date coastal cranes, through direct investment or by attracting private sector companies and investors.
