Iran needs 18 million tons of feed

Mirhadi Seyedi, International Consultant to Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPO): According to the Eurasia agreement, Iran should reduce the tariff on 380 different goods. The tariff on some of these goods is fixed and Iran cannot increase the tariff. The other tariffs have been reduced and some have got to zero. On the other hand, Eurasia has also reduced the tariff on 503 imported goods from Iran.
Hassan Abbasi Maroofan, CEO of SLAL: In general, Iran needs 18 million tons of feed in a year and this will experience a six percent increase for next year. Most of the needed feed comes from corn with almost 10.5 million tons from which 1.5 million tons is from the strategic storage of the country. The remaining 8 million tons is imported by different traders from Brazil, Russia and Ukraine.
Hossein Modarres Khiabani, Deputy to Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade in trade relations: In the current year more than 11 million tons of wheat have been harvested in Iran and 800 million USD worth of wheat and its related products were exported to more than 66 countries. The added value from exports is 20 times more than the production and we are planning to increase the exports to 1.5 billion USD for the next year.
Mohamadreza Karbassi, Deputy of International Affairs in Iran Chamber of Commerce: Romania for Iran is a country which can facilitate the trade to Balkan countries. There are no restrictions for trade with these countries and Iran is mostly importing raw material from them. Exports to these countries include technical services, construction services, oil and gas.
Sharif Nezam Mafi, Chairman of the Board at Iran-Switzerland Chamber of Commerce: The talks regarding the financial solution between Iran and Switzerland have been in the process for more than two years now and the Swiss Humanitarian Trade Arrangement is in effect. This arrangement has been done by the collaboration of Central Bank of Iran and The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in order to get the necessary goods such as grains and medicine from Switzerland.
Feriyal Mostofi, member of Tehran Chamber of Commerce: Middle East Bank has opened a branch in Munich, Germany which will help the transactions for the export of humanitarian goods to Iran.
