70% unused capacity in animal feed factories

Last year, about 17 million tons of livestock inputs were imported into the country, including about 10 million tons of corn, 3.5 million tons of barley, and 3.5 million tons of soybeans and soybean meal.

The total consumption of animal feed in Iran is about 21 million tons but the production capacity of the country’s factories is about 29 million tons, which shows that about 50% of the animal feed factories in the country are out of this cycle, and this feed is being produced in the poultry and livestock breeding units in a traditional and non-standard way.
