Delay in paying the difference in flour production to the factories

Factories are in a disadvantageous situation because in 2023 and 2024 they still sell flour at the rate of 2022, while there is no other commodity except flour in the market that can be sold at the rate of 2022. Even in the chain of wheat, flour and bread, two wheat and bread products have changed their prices, but not flour, and since we have to buy wheat and sell flour in the system, we are not able to change the price.

Mr. Yazdjerdi noted: In this regard, the law mandates that if the ordered rate is different from the finished rate, the government must pay the difference to the producer. On this basis, Mr. Mokhbar, the first vice president, in September of 2023, ordered that this matter be implemented and the difference between the ordered rate and the finished rate be paid to the factories. However, despite the passage of several months since the beginning of 2024, the preparations for this work have not yet been prepared, and the reason for this is the delay in determining the compensation rate by the support organization. In order to speed up this action, the Iranian Flour Industries Association has written a letter to the relevant ministry again to remove the flour mills that are in inadequate liquidity and income from this situation.
