A new green grain terminal is set to boost Kazakhstan’s role in the global grain trade, as AD Ports Group and Semurg Invest LLP partner to develop key infrastructure at Kuryk Port. Under the agreement, AD Ports will hold a 51% stake and Semurg 49%, with total investments exceeding $50 million — $30 million of which comes from AD Ports.

The terminal is a strategic part of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, aiming to enhance Kazakhstan’s export capacity and streamline cargo transit to European markets. Once the first phase is completed in 2026, the terminal will handle up to 570,000 metric tons annually, expanding to 1.5 million tons in the second phase.

Semurg’s CEO highlighted that the project will help diversify Kazakhstan’s export corridors and contribute to the economic development of the Mangystau region. Meanwhile, AD Ports reaffirmed its long-term commitment to supporting global food security and accelerating strategic growth across Central Asia.
