
- CEO of Sahar Bread Industrial Group: The 500 billion dollars that government has allocated to initializing industrial bread in Iran has led to the opening of 28 industrial plants; however, most of these factories have been closed now and only 30 percent of them are producing bread at the moment.
- Some of the manufacturers of bread making equipment has had an export volume of one million dollars in the past year. Iran’s bread making technology is known in neighboring countries such as Iraq, the CIS and African countries.
- CEO of Tehran Bakhtar Flour: The government has recently announced that the difference between the price of the wheat from the south port has raised from 8600 IRR to 10400 IRR, this increase would add 2200 to 2500 IRR to the price of the flour. If this happens, the market cannot pay this huge and sudden difference.
- Hajian, an expert in Food and Drug Administration of Islamic Republic of Iran: For analyzing the quality of the imported rice we are doing some more detailed inspections. Right now the heavy metals in imported rice has decreased by 20 percent and the utmost limit of Lead and Arsenic in rice is no more than 120 ppm. The amount of Cadmium in the imported rice is no more than 48 ppb. These are the limitations and regulations for importing rice from other countries and we are carefully watching it.
- Dr Koohi, toxicologist: the amount of baking soda in breads in Iran is too much and its pH is more than 8 which is not healthy anymore.
- Sadeghi Golmakani, CEO of Sarakhs Special Economic Zone: This very important project is using Iran’s railways and it is necessary for the improvement of the commercial aspects. The excellent situation of Sarakhs Zone which is the gateway to Central Asia can deliver thousands tons of grains and other cargos to different parts of Iran and other countries. Regarding the 500 billion Tomans on investment in this zone, it is possible to export 2 million tons of goods every year.
- Mohsen Lozoomian, Head of Iran’s Industrial Bread Association: Giving work permit to more artisan and traditional bakeries regardless of the bans is one of the most important issues for the industrial bread community. According to the Fifth Development Plan, it was supposed that until the end of 1394, 40 percent of Iran’s bread would be industrial. However, at the moment only 10 to 12 percent of the bread consumption in Iran is industrial.
- Esfandiari Poor from Agriculture Ministry of Iran: Wheat is the most important agricultural commodity of Iran. 38 percent of the energy and 46 percent of the population of Iran is provided by wheat. The wheat growing areas in Iran are almost 6 million hectares.
- Dr goodarz najafian is a reasearcher in wheat genetics and his studies has led to introducing 6 different varieties of wheat in Iran since 9 years ago.
