We have almost got 10 million tons of capacity in the flour mills in Iran which is not in use. There are so many different and difficult procedures which should be done that many traders prefer not to export flour to other countries. If the government omitted some of those procedures, it would have been easier to export flour from Iran. Turkey is providing the majority of the flour that Iraq needs, we need to compete with them because we are also capable of exporting.<\/li>\n<li>Mohammad Rasool Masaebi, Head of Glucose and Starch Guild in Iran: From all the starch that is produced in Iran, 10% of it (about 40 to 50 thousand tons) is the by-products of starch. In the last 2 years, with the good marketing that has been done, we have been able to increase our gluten export.<\/li>\n<li>Reza Moayedi, CEO of Sahand Saqez Flour: There is a surplus of wheat in Kordestan province and we have to send it to other provinces; however, the whet quality of this province is medium and we expect to get at least 30000 tons of good quality wheat for sending 400000 tons of our medium quality wheat. This would help the flour quality in this province to get better and the bakers would use 20% less salt while baking bread.<\/li>\n<li>Kazemi, CEO of Banafsheh Behshar Flour: There is a standard for getting 802 Kg of flour from every ton of wheat; however, this might not be possible in the northern provinces in Iran which the humidity is more than other parts of the country. In this part of the country, we can get around 750 to 760 Kg of flour from 1 ton of wheat. We could get 802 from a good quality soft wheat such as wheat from Canada or Australia.<\/li>\n<li>Tootoonchi, CEO of Shole Dezfool Flour: Unfortunately, farmers in Khoozestan province do not let the fields to rest for a while and they plant wheat without any gap, this has led the quality of wheat to fall dramatically. The seed which is used does not have the needed quality; therefore, the low gluten is a common characteristic of the wheat in this province. The size of the kernels used to be 3.5 mm but it is only 2.5 mm now. Wheat is a valuable heritage and we have to take care of it.<\/li>\n<li>Salman Zarbi, CEO of Sahand Marine Services: in the current year, Sahand Marine Services won a tender for being a grain operator in Imam Khomeini Port. The grain operation project will be done by Sahand Maribe Services for 3 years and the silo projects for 20 years.<\/li>\n<li>From March 2017, Iran has exported 28,500 tons of regular wheat to Oman, 31,500 tons of durum to Italy and 25000 tons of flour to Iraq. Regarding the fact that in exports to Iraq, Turkey is Iran\u2019s main competitor, Iranians should give a close attention to the flour quality and the packaging of goods sent to Iraq.<\/li>\n<li>Ali Pirmand, Technical Manager in Shole Dezfool Flour: Regarding the weather in Khoozestan, this province could produce 20% of the wheat in Iran. However, because of the drought in the past few years, we have only been able to produce 15%. Fortunately, the quality of wheat in Khoozestan is the best in Iran and we do not need to use a lot of improver to be able to use the flour.<\/li>\n<li>Vatan Gida company in Turket has been founded in 1987 in Istanbul. This company is the official representative of Haubelt of Germany. Vatan Gida has been working in the enzyme and flour improver for many years. Hamian Sabz Eksir following its success in Iran has signed a contract with Vatan Gida form the beginning of 2018.<\/li>\n<li>Noroozi, CEO of Panap: Using automation in producing flour will result in the better quality of flour and also reduces the costs. The automation systems manage and control the best production process.
