
During recent years, these business relationships have become more and more extensive. For example, since 2010, wheat production in Russia has increased 2.5 times and reached 158 million tons. The population of Russia is currently 146 million people, and Russia has again gained 26% of the world wheat export market share.
In the 2022-23 crop season, Russia achieved a record in wheat export by exporting 56 million tons of wheat, which was equivalent to 26% of the world export. In the same season, Russia also exported 6.9 million tons of barley, 5.3 tons of corn.
In the 2023-24 season, which runs until June 30, Russian grain exports are forecast at 70 million tons, including 53 million tons of wheat. In the long term, the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia has planned to increase the export of grain to foreign markets and has set the export target of 80 million tons by 2030.
