The price liberalization of wheat for the guild and industry was approved in 2025

Ahmad Malek, CEO of Mana Food Industries Company

The liberalization of the price of wheat for the guild and industry in 2025 is a decision that the government and the parliament have agreed on and approved. However, the pasta industry had previously proposed to the government to eliminate the guild and industry wheat subsidy and not set a mandatory price.

He stated the above in an interview with Negashteh and stated: “According to this resolution, in the 2025 agricultural year, wheat for the guild and industry will be purchased by activists and producers or the government. Manufacturing factories in the guild and industry sector can purchase their required wheat at a free rate from the government, and the government will provide the private sector with the rate for the purchased guild and industry wheat based on overhead costs and a reasonable profit, the amount of which is not yet clear.”

Malek further stated: Given the uncertainty of overhead costs (cost of shopping center, silo rental, wheat transportation, etc.) and the government’s profit in purchasing wheat from the guild and industry, we cannot predict the final price of wheat in 2025. Of course, this also happened in 2020, and the government purchased wheat from the guild and industry for 2,500 Tomans and sold it to the guild and industry sector at a rate of 2,700 Tomans with 8 percent of the side costs and overhead, which did not make a profit for itself at that time. Therefore, the price of the guild and industry wheat in the coming year cannot be accurately predicted, but one thing that is clear is that the increase in the price of wheat will also affect the price of the final pasta product.
