Agacli Holding started marketing in Iran.

  • Dr Ghanbari, GTC’s CEO: Iran’s wheat production in the current year will be 13 million tons which 10 million tons of it would be bought by GTC from the farmers. There has been a 20 percent increase in wheat production in the past 3 years. For exports we will consider Iraq, Afghanistan and Oman as the potential buyers.
  • Mehdi Jafarian, Buhler’s Rice Processing and Sortex Sales Director in North of Iran: According to official statistics, rice winnowing has got the most waste in rice processing industry in Iran.
  • General Director of GTC’s Technical Office: Iran needs 2 million tons investment in silo industry. The country has got 18 million tons right now and it needs 2 more in areas that the private sector has not paid attention to.
  • Dr Gholamreza Rafiee, lawyer: Unfortunately, not having enough lawyers specializing in international contracts in grain trade and not consulting with the small number who work in this field, and even not signing contracts according to the international laws, has made the Iranian companies and the country to face irreparable loss.
  • Atoosa Ajamloo, GTC’s General Director of Exports: Regarding the wheat stock in Iran and the new shipments, there is enough wheat in the country and there should be proper plans for not imposing additional costs for its storage.
  • Amir Jamshidi, Manager of Amir Abad Port: Amir Abad Port is the biggest and most important port in the Caspian Sea. This port has got modern equipment for loading and unloading grains using rails. Its capacity for handling grains is 4 million tons per year. Amir Abad Port has got the first rank in unloading grains in the northern parts of Iran.
  • Asghar Shahriari, Oxin Khoozestan’s CEO: In Iran, industrial bread’s market share is only 10 percent.
  • Iran-Switzerland Chamber of Commerce annual meeting was held on 11 July in Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture.
  • Alborz Flour’s CEO, Mohammad Reza Meisami Fard: Wheat import ban will make the flourmills to use the local wheat which does not have the needed quality.
  • Khalil Karami, OBIAL Silo representative in Iran: Most silos in the harvesting season have problems loading and unloading grains and there are not enough knowledgeable workforce for using conveyors. Therefore, there are always problems for silo owners which they cannot resolve themselves.
  • Buhler has been active in the ships’ unloading equipment for more than 65 years. Because of the low capacity in Iran’s market for these equipment, this sector of Buhler products has not been present in Iran. However, with the new strategies for equipping Iran’s ports such as Chabahar and also more volume in unloading grains in ports, the market has become more interesting for Buhler and it has started to offer these equipment to its customers.
  • Agacli Holding is a silo company which has recently started marketing in Iran. According to Ehsan Bahramsari, one of the most important features of Agacli silos is in using authentic American, German, Canadian (elevator) and French (raw material for sheets) equipment and technology.
  • As announced a year ago, Stefan Scheiber is now CEO of Bühler as of 1 July. He succeeds Calvin Grieder, who will focus on his role as Chairman of the Board.
